Sierra Tequila Reposado is an original Mexican tequila. Sierra Tequila Reposado is made from the heart of the blue agave species "Tequilana Weber", which belongs to the cactus family. The blue agaves grow on the high plateau around the "Destileria Sierra" in Atotonilco El Alto at an altitude of over 2,000 meters. The valuable blue agaves only mature and can be harvested after 8-10 years. To harvest the hearts, remove the prickly leaves from the agave plant. The heart pieces, which now look like a pineapple, are distilled twice in copper kettles (alambiques) using old traditional methods. Only the distillate of this special type of agave, which grows in a precisely defined area in the province of Jalisco, is allowed to bear the name "tequila", and production is carried out according to strict Mexican government rules. Sierra Tequila Reposado is a fine, golden, particularly soft and mild tequila that has been aged for at least 3 months in barrels.
